A wide range of activities is available, both in school and privately in the village. The school offers cricket, soccer, hockey, cross-country running, and in the village itself, many of our pupils benefit from tennis and swimming coaching. Horse-riding on a beautiful farm nearby is another popular sport enjoyed by many.
Participation in these activities is strongly encouraged. Every pupil is offered the opportunity to represent Greyton House at occasional inter-schools events, such as athletics, cross-country, swimming galas, cricket, hockey or soccer matches. Whilst the emphasis is on good sportsmanship and enjoyment of the sport rather than on an all-out victory, our little school has often amazed its larger opponents by walking off with the prize.
With the incomparable back-drop of the Riviersonderend Mountains, the river and the farmlands, hiking, mountain biking, fishing and art lessons are other activities that our pupils are able to enjoy right on their doorstep.
At Greyton House, the children are encouraged to be environmentally responsible, participating in river clean-ups, hacks and recycling.
Weekly enrichment clubs are enjoyed by the older pupils. We have some budding chefs coming up through the ranks of the school!
Field trips, camps, computer literacy classes, singing, the outreach programme into our community all add to the variety of activities that pupils at Greyton House are involved in during their school year.
